Maria C. Garza, LCSW
I am a multicultural, multilingual, Latina Clinical Social Worker, who is deeply committed to providing a safe, strength-based, client-centered, empowering environment, where we can collaboratively work to increase your emotional wellbeing by supporting and guiding you on your unique emotional healing journey.
When life challenges us in so many ways, becoming overwhelming, it is important to find a therapist that you can trust. My approach to the therapeutic process is multifaceted and deeply rooted in mixing evidenced-based theories and approaches catered to each client’s unique needs, preferences, always working as a team with respect and equality.
As an immigrant Latina woman, originally from Brasil, a citizen of this world and now a proudly adopted Tex- Mex citizen for the past twenty years, a mother, an abuela, a sister, and a daughter who has lived in several different Latino American countries, having had a very diverse career background, I’m very familiar with life challenges, resiliency, advocacy, and most importantly the need to deeply know oneself and be committed to our growth and healing so we can continue en la Lucha!
For the past seven years, I have had the honor to work with people that are grieving different losses, people at the end of their lives, chronically ill patients, older adults, and their loved ones, families, in different settings, which allows me to provide a flexible, kind, and compassionate approach to the therapeutic process. I also have a strong passion and experience in facilitating/leading groups. I am able to provide these services in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
